The beginning
Our media teacher assigned each of us a pitch about our idea for the coursework. The pitch is 5 minutes long, excluding the Q&A session. She gave us two weeks to prepare for the pitch.
THE PREPARATION
"The Graveyard: Unveiling the Dark Side of Social Media"
Learned my lesson from last year project, I have written all the idea that randomly run through my mind in a notebook and I know that this is the time when that note will become handy. After much research, I choose a thrilling script that tackle the devil side of social media. The narrative centers around an mysterious website known as 'The Graveyard,' where high school students spread rumors and slander against each other, all masterminded by a cunning student called Jeff, with the intention of sabotaging his rivals in the Student Council election.
As the concept started to form, I started on creating a captivating pitch deck that from the script. Aiming for a dark and contemporary theme, I paint the presentation with a palette of black, red, white, and green. The pitch deck precisely outlined the idea, plot, characters, uniqueness, budget, timeline, and the strategy for promotion and distribution.
However, the treatment is much more difficult than I thought. With a load of elements to research, from a meaningful logline to character descriptions and major scenes, a brief introduction about the format, distributing channel, promoting method, genres & types, a synopsis, a description of each character, major scenes, and a conclusion. However, with the guidance of my teacher, I finally manage to complete it.
As the day of the presentation come closer, the anxiousness and excitement are inclining. With the assignments completed, I cannot wait until the day I can show 'The Graveyard' to the class. It's such a long journey that has tested my creativity and resilience. Stay tuned for the unveiling of 'The Graveyard'!
