[Planning] MEDIA CAMPAIGN - Launching social media page

A success media project always come with a success media campaign for promotion, that is why we need to come up with a social media page in order to advertise our short movie. Furthermore, it is also a requirement within the coursework (check out here).


THE IDEA

We want to create a social media page on Facebook for our STUDIO instead of just the short movie itself. This is because it would allowed us to reuse this page for other/future media projects. Also, this is what more common in the industry (e.g. the Marvel Studio page posting about there new movies.)

We brainstormed names of the studio. Out of all the name, we chose Oculus. Oculus is the word "Eyes" in Latin language. We believed that with the content of the short movie "The Graveyard", it is revealing a dark side of life, like opening a third eyes to view the very "truth" of everything. That's why we chose the eyes to be our symbol.

With that in mind me, as an editor, start working on the design of the avatar and the banner of the page. I want to build the look out of the page surround the iconic symbol of the "eyes". After going through Pinterest for inspiration, I have choose some of the beautiful drawings that I like and put it up together on Photoshop to create the avatar and the banner. Here is the design of it:

After setting up the banner and the avatar, it is finally time to edit all the bibliography, description and post our very first post to introduce about the studio. This is the image of the fanpage on Facebook:

OUR INTRODUCTION POST

On this page, we will also update information about the progress of the short movie as well as some news about the project and the studio, including: sneak peak, behind the scenes, advertisement postcard, posters, soundtrack, ... It is a promising path that await the group.
